REPORTS TO: Group Head: HR + Admin
RESPONSIBILITY
- Responsible for all Medical Care rendered to all staff in the company
- Ability to carry out necessary medical screening for any staff working with processes, materials or substances that require them to receive medical supervision
- Carry out environmental surveys, risk assessments and to provide advice on issues relating to workplace ergonomics, occupational hygiene and safety. This work is often undertaken in conjunction with the Safety Officer
- Offer a variety of health education and health promotion programmes to encourage the health and fitness of all members of staff
- Advice HR and line managers in the event of illness on the fitness to return to work and/or rehabilitation needs of individuals. Assist those individuals when they return to work to enable them to settle into their work pattern with minimum stress and disruption.
- Monitor sickness absence and provide sickness absence statistics, counseling and advice to managers and individuals
- Examining and talking to staff & diagnose their medical conditions
- Assist in planning, coordination and clinical supervision of services provided to staff
- Making notes, both as a record of treatment and for referral back to GPs in the community
- Promoting health education
- Managing HIV workplace programmes.
QUALIFICATION SKILL &EXPERIENCE
- Degree-qualified Doctor of Medicine from a reputable university and aged 38 years or above. You will have a minimum of 10 years’ post graduation experience in occupational health emergency/urgent care,
